Bashkir Man in Brown Ink

Perfecting my method of drawing portraits by smudging lines of ink with my hand. I called it “a poor man’s airbrush.”

This man was a Bashkir – a Turkic-speaking ethnicity of former nomads, now settled on the southern slopes of the Ural Mountains, Russia.
