Little Gentle Flower Man

This hospital patient resembled a potted plant he was sitting next to: quiet, motionless, gentle, and vulnerable. I imagined I could pick him up and replant him on a different bench, and he would remain there in the same position I left him, staring at the floor and looking gentle and vulnerable.
